Glass Nickel Pizza Co in Madison, WI, is seeking a delivery driver to gather and deliver orders with a smile. Wage combines $8.50/hour base pay plus tips, plus federal mileage reimbursement. Training on routing deliveries is provided.

Eligible employees (30+ hours/week) receive health and dental insurance; all employees have AFLAC. Must have a valid WI driver’s license, a reliable car, and good driving record. Join a team with frequent deliveries and supportive staff.

Qualifications

• Must be friendly, punctual and guest service oriented.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Must have valid U.S. driver’s license for 3 years minimum, preferably from WI.
• Must have a reliable car in good working order.
• Safe driving and following rules of the road must be a priority.
• Car must have minimal or no body damage, no loud noise.
• Free from potentially controversial images or stickers.
• Rooftop available to mount magnetic logo sign.
• Ability to work according to availability and as scheduled, with open end times.
• Valid insurance on any/every vehicle that will be driven for work.
• Hiring contingent upon GNP company insurance approval.
• Must have smart phone, good sense of direction/navigation, and ability to locate addresses efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Follow GPS instructions and know streets in the delivery area for efficient routing.
• Provide personable customer service and communication with customers and coworkers.
• Maintain safe driving habits and follow traffic laws, including parking rules.
• Operate POS system for routing, locating orders, and taking orders by phone.
• Use technology for schedule posts and team communications.
• If applying for nights, drive safely in the dark.
• Assist with dishwashing, stocking, cleaning, waste removal, answering phones and other duties.
• Be comfortable around pets encountered during deliveries.
• Drive in all weather conditions and ensure a working smartphone.

POSITION SUMMARY: The driver is responsible for gathering and delivering orders with a smile.

WAGE AND OTHER PAYMENT: Drivers wage range is a combination of wage of $8.50/hour, PLUS tips, PLUS we pay mileage reimbursement at the FEDERAL reimbursement rate, not business rate. We are one of the busiest delivery restaurants and single stop runs are the rarity. Initial help/training with routing deliveries provided.

30+ hours/week employees are eligible for health and dental insurance, all employees are eligible for Aflac.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Able to follow GPS instructions
• Knowledge of streets in delivery area & most efficient routes
• Personable, good customer service skills and able to communicate with coworkers and customers
• Safe driving habits
• Full understanding of traffic laws, including parking laws & no parking zones
• Able to operate POS system when trained, for routing, locating orders, and taking orders over the phone
• Can use technology for schedule posts and team communications
• If applying for nights, able to drive safely and efficiently in the dark
• Help with dishwashing, soda stocking, sweeping/mopping, general cleaning, waste removal, answering phones, and other assigned side duties.
• Comfortable around pets you may encounter on deliveries

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Must have had a valid DL for 3 consecutive years
• Must have a good driving record that is approved by company insurance

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:

• Ability to stand/walk/sit/drive for 8 hours per day
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Will frequently lift, bend, carry, stoop, drive, and sit
• Must be able to work in both warm and cool environments, indoors and outdoors
• Must be able to tolerate interacting with customers in uncontrolled environments
• Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: eggs, dairy, soy, gluten
