Job summary

Flora Terra is seeking a Delivery Driver to safely transport cannabis inventory for licensed operations in Santa Rosa, CA. You will maintain chain of custody, load/unload products, verify recipient identity, and complete delivery manifests in compliance with state regulations and company policy.

Responsibilities

• Operate the company vehicle safely and legally during transport.
• Plan and execute delivery routes to meet schedules and notify management of delays.
• Deliver products to licensed facilities, obtain signatures, and verify recipient identity.
• Inspect manifests and products for accuracy before departure.
• Assist with preparing products for transport and loading into the vehicle.
• Monitor quantities during loading and delivery and reconcile transfers.
• Maintain inventory security in transit and at destination.
• Unload returns and reconcile inventory and documentation on return.
• Report vehicle or safety issues to a supervisor promptly.
• Follow regulations on transport manifests, labeling, and transfer procedures.
• Maintain delivery records, mileage logs, and transfer manifests.
• Collaborate with inventory, packaging, and management teams.
• Adjust hours/shifts to meet delivery schedules; weekend work may be required.

Description

The Delivery Driver supports the safe, accurate, and compliant transport and delivery of cannabis inventory for Flora Terra’s licensed cannabis operation. This role maintains the chain of custody from facility to recipient, including loading, transporting, and delivering products and reconciling inventory and documentation upon return, in accordance with state regulations, transport manifest requirements, and company policy.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Operate the company vehicle safely and legally, adhering to all traffic laws and internal safety standards during transport
• Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently to meet scheduled timelines, and communicate promptly with management regarding potential delays or issues
• Deliver products professionally and courteously to licensed facilities, securing required signatures and verifying recipient identity per state regulations
• Inspect transport manifests and packaged products for accuracy before departure, ensuring products match the transfer documentation and meet regulatory specifications
• Assist with selecting, verifying, and preparing products for transport, and securely load them into the delivery vehicle
• Monitor product quantities during loading and delivery, and ensure all transfers are accurately accounted for
• Maintain the security of cannabis inventory while in transit and during the transfer process at the destination
• Unload returned or undelivered products, and reconcile inventory and documentation upon return to the facility
• Monitor the condition of the delivery vehicle, and immediately report any issues with the vehicle, safety equipment, or inventory levels within the vehicle to a supervisor
• Follow all state regulations and company policies on cannabis transport manifests, packaging, labeling, and transfer procedures
• Maintain accurate records, complete required delivery reports, mileage logs, vehicle inspection reports, and transfer manifests, and record work time per company policy
• Collaborate with inventory, packaging, and management teams to support smooth order fulfillment and a positive, professional work environment
• Adjust work hours and shift schedules as needed to meet delivery schedules and business needs. This may include covering shifts or modifying schedules in response to staffing needs or business demands, in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws. Weekend work is occasionally required

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must be able to meet state requirements for working in a licensed cannabis business, including required background checks and agent licensing
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required
• Understanding of cannabis transport and delivery regulations, or willingness and ability to learn and adhere to them quickly; prior experience or a strong understanding of these regulations is a plus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially for professional interactions with licensed facilities
• Detail-oriented and highly organized, which is critical for manifest and inventory accuracy
• High security awareness and dependability
• Ability to work a variable schedule based on delivery schedules and business conditions, including occasional weekends
• Ability to travel locally and/or regionally on a frequent basis to fulfill delivery obligations

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs for product loading and unloading, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Regularly expected to talk and listen, and comfortable with extended periods of sitting (driving), standing, walking, reaching, and using hands
• Work environment is primarily a company vehicle and professional delivery settings, with time spent in the secure facility or warehouse area for preparation and return; employees should be aware of known allergens in the workspace and take necessary precautions
