This position emphasizes safety, reliability, and professional representation of the company. With a target wage of $32.13 per hour and negotiated increases, overtime may be available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of over-the-road tractor-trailer driving experience.
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL).
• Willingness to comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver and deliver backhaul truckloads of products and materials to plants, customers, and distributors as assigned.
• Observe and maintain all DOT requirements regarding hours of service, logbooks, vehicle inspections, load inspections, and load securement.
• Utilize electronic logging devices and paper logs when needed and use onboard vehicle tracking systems efficiently.
• Operate a tractor and trailer in a legal and safe manner consistent with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Utilize all onboard safety features.
• Complete and submit all company paperwork, including manifests, bills of lading, proof of delivery documents, pay envelopes, overage reports, shortage reports, damaged claims, and trip reports.
• Load and unload products as assigned.
• Maintain seal integrity and report accurate and verified case counts and product conditions during deliveries.

Summary
Be a critical part of delivering products safely, efficiently, and on time while representing the trusted Perdue Farms brand. In this role, you will operate a tractor-trailer combination between company and customer locations, transporting freight and managing equipment exchanges, including drop, hook, spot, loading, and unloading activities. You will play an essential role in maintaining reliable service, ensuring compliance with transportation regulations, and supporting operational excellence across the distribution network. This opportunity is ideal for a safety-focused, dependable professional who takes pride in delivering exceptional service, building positive customer relationships, and serving as a professional ambassador of the Perdue Farms brand.
This position has a target wage of $ 32.13 per hour, with negotiated increases. Overtime may be available.

Minimum Education And Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of over-the-road tractor-trailer driving experience.
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL).

• Experience driving trailers.
• Strong communication skills.
  

Physical Requirements And Environmental Factors

• Able to drive a tractor with a trailer.
• Able to remain seated for extended periods up to the limits established by DOT regulations.
• Able to withstand bouncing and vibration from truck and road conditions.
• Able to lift boxes up to 100 pounds to load and unload products.
• Exposed to fuel and oil spills.
• Exposed to extreme temperatures (0-100 degrees Fahrenheit), humidity (0-100%), and noise levels from 50 dB to 100 dB.
