Job summary

Farmers Furniture is seeking a delivery/warehouse associate who will load and unload trucks and deliver merchandise to customers’ homes or businesses within the assigned route. You will drive a delivery truck, stock shelves, set up displays, and assist with related warehouse duties while upholding safety standards.

This role also involves documenting deliveries, maintaining vehicle and equipment, and providing courteous customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; six months experience in a distribution or warehouse environment.
• Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver's License and meet DOT requirements.
• Familiarity with the delivery area.

Responsibilities

• Drives truck in assigned zone to deliver products to customers; assists with directing trucks into unloading areas.
• Loads truck for daily deliveries; unloads at customer locations and sets up as needed.
• Obtains customer signature on receipt for delivery.
• Records deliveries on delivery records and submits to management.
• Monitors and maintains vehicle safety; records fuel usage and reports to management.
• Unloads merchandise from warehouse and trucks.
• Maintains cleanliness of store/warehouse interiors and exposes merchandise displays.
• Places stock on shelves or racks and sets up displays.
• Assembles merchandise as required.
• Assists with repossessions of goods.
• Performs general maintenance and grounds keeping duties for warehouse/store.
• Performs customer service inspections and repairs as needed.
• Performs collection field calls to delinquent customers as directed.
• Upholds company values in daily operations.

Essential Functions

• Drives truck in assigned zone or area to deliver products purchased by customer; ensures safe operations of vehicles by assisting delivery truck drivers with directing trucks into unloading areas.
• Loads truck in preparation for daily deliveries; unloads merchandise at customer location and sets up as necessary.
• Obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery.
• Records deliveries on delivery record and submits to appropriate management.
• Monitors proper maintenance of and regular inspection of vehicles for adherence to safety practices; performs general maintenance of vehicles; records fuel/fluid usage and submits to management.
• Unloads merchandise from warehouse and freight trucks.
• Maintains cleanliness of store/warehouse interior and grounds and upholds the company’s Delivery Standards.
• Places stock on shelves or racks and sets up merchandise and sales promotion displays.
• Assembles merchandise as required.
• Assists with repossessions of goods.
• Performs general maintenance and grounds keeping duties for warehouse and/or store.
• Performs customer service inspections and/or repairs as needed.
• Performs collection field calls to delinquent customers at the request of management.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED; six months experience in a distribution or warehouse environment; or any combination of training, experience and education which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Must possess and maintain a valid State Drivers License and have a general familiarity with the delivery area. Must be able to meet DOT requirements (examples: Medical Examiners Certification and Driver’s DOT qualification file).
