Job summary

CORT Tradeshow and Events in Nashville, TN is hiring non‑CDL drivers to safely deliver, set up, and pick up furnishings for trade shows and events. You will drive box trucks or sprinter vans, supervise temporary on-site staff, and ensure customer satisfaction.

The role includes on-site teamwork, inspections, loading and unloading, and completing logs. We offer weekly pay, health insurance, a 401(k) match, paid time off, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver’s license in your state of residence.
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Minimum 3 months professional experience driving a 24‑foot box truck or larger.
  • Physically able to move furniture indoors, outdoors, up or down stairs, and in all weather; lift 100+ pounds with a partner.
  • Ability to comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Load trucks safely and verify loading order.
  • Attend pre-delivery meetings and maintain team communication.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip truck inspections.
  • Drive box trucks or sprinter vans on company routes.
  • Install and assemble furniture per floor plans or client instructions.
  • Inspect furniture for damage during pickups and deliveries.
  • Provide on-site customer service and supervise temporary staff.
  • Perform warehouse duties as needed.

Overview

CORT Tradeshow and Events is hiring immediately for non‑CDL drivers in Nashville, TN! Drivers are key members of the delivery team, representing CORT to customers and ensuring customer satisfaction. This role is responsible for the safe and timely delivery, set‑up, and pickup of furnishings and equipment at trade shows and event venues. Drivers operate box trucks or sprinter vans, supervise temporary associates on site, and ensure that all work is performed in accordance with client expectations and safety standards. Production leaders may also assist in the warehouse with loading and unloading trucks or performing essential warehouse duties.

Compensation and Schedule

Pay: $22 per hour. Schedule will vary based on business needs and requires weekend work.

Responsibilities
  • Loading Trucks: Inspect furniture, load truck safely, and ensure accurate loading order.
  • Operations Planning & Communication: Attend pre‑delivery meetings, maintain communication with the team, and resolve any issues.
  • Truck inspections: Complete pre‑ and post‑trip inspections; clean and prepare trucks for future shifts.
  • Documentation and service logs: Complete required written documentation and maintain accurate records on an electronic logging device.
  • Driving: Drive box trucks or sprinter vans within company routes safely and lawfully.
  • Deliveries: Install and assemble furniture based on floor plans or client instructions, ensuring accuracy and presentation.
  • Pick‑ups: Inspect furniture for damage, load into trucks, and ensure nothing is left behind.
  • Provide onsite customer service: Interact professionally with clients during deliveries and setups.
  • Supervise temporary labor: Instruct temporary associates on delivery, pickup, loading, and unloading tasks.
  • Perform warehouse duties: Manually load or unload materials, put items away, and organize within the warehouse.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and early mornings.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Valid and current driver’s license in the state of residency.
  • A minimum of 3 months professional experience driving a 24‑foot box truck or larger commercial vehicle (1 year preferred).
  • Physically able to move furniture indoors, outdoors, up or down stairs, and in all weather; lift 100+ pounds with a partner.
  • Ability to comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations.
  • Maintain a valid DOT Medical Evaluator Certificate.
  • Successfully pass a road test based on FMCSA/CORT requirements.
  • Acceptable MVR per CORT’s Safe Driving Standards.
  • English language proficiency sufficient to converse with the public, read signs, and record reports.
