Job Summary:
Drivers are responsible for transporting deliveries in a safe, timely, and professional manner that reflects our restaurant's high standards. They must be available throughout the day and on weekends to meet delivery needs.
Payment and Compensation:
Payment In consideration for the services to be performed by Contractor, Client agrees to pay Contractor at the following rates: 70% of the delivery charge for the performed delivery, in addition to 15% the additional tip that the customer added to the order. Contractor shall be paid within a reasonable time after Contractor completes the job.
Activities & Responsibilities:
- Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Back A Yard
- Make deliveries of our product to residential and commercial locations.
- Assist with loading and unloading delivered goods
- Generate an efficient and timely delivery route that minimizes customer wait times when delivering more than one order.
- Follow safe driving practices and ensure the company vehicle is safe to drive
- Learn the names and recognize regular guests.
- Clean and maintain all equipment and work areas associated with the job function.
- Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues to the restaurant manager.
- Listen to and resolve customers' complaints regarding services or orders.
- Communicate and report any accidents or incidents
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and vehicle logs
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offer suggestions for improvement.
- Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
- Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Possess suitable communications skills to create a positive interaction experience with our guests.
- Possess a valid state driving license and clean driving record
- Have use of a properly maintained, licensed, and street-legal vehicle capable of driving up to two-hundred miles per day
- Maintain insurance coverage as mandated by state law
- Able to read a map and interpret written directions
- Basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and make change
- Able to work in a sitting while driving, standing, and walking position with frequent changes between positions
- Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
- Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours)
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
