Job summary

US FOODS is hiring Delivery Drivers to join a nationwide team. You will deliver meats, produce, frozen goods, groceries, and supplies to customer sites with a focus on service and reliability.

The role requires CDL A, DOT qualification, and prior driving experience. Training pays $25.65 per hour for 90 days, followed by a component pay plan. Benefits are available, and overtime is paid. Early morning, Monday–Friday shifts starting at 2:00 AM are common.

• Must have valid CDL A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualification.
• Minimum six months commercial truck driving experience or three months of foodservice/food and beverage truck delivery experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect payments where needed and verify deliveries with customers.
• Maintain safe driving practices and comply with transportation regulations.
• Provide courteous, professional customer service on every route.

Main Ingredients of the Job

• As a US FOODS® Delivery Driver you will be critical to the US FOODS® team and one of the important faces of our organization. As a delivery truck driver, you will have an impact on our customers by delivering our meats, produce, frozen goods, groceries, dry goods, equipment, and supplies to their drop-off sites.
• Deliver best-in-class Customer Service.
• Deliver customer's orders to meet scheduled delivery times and keep productivity.
• Unload products with a hand truck and place items in customer storage area.
• Able to perform repeated, manual heavy lifting of items up to 80 pounds.
• Make frequent stops during a work shift.
• Deliver product in inclement weather conditions.
• Verify delivery of items with customers.
• Collect money (cash or checks) where needed.

What you bring to the table

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $25.65 and $41.00.

As applicable, this role will also receive component pay. Each new driver will go onto the component pay program after a minimum two-week training period. This training period may be extended at the discretion of Transportation Management. During the training period the driver will be paid an hourly rate of $25.65 plus time and one half for all hours worked over 40 hours in a workweek. When the new driver can deliver on his/her own he/she will be removed from training pay and paid based on plan components.
