Job summary

Best-One Tire & Service at our Post Road location is seeking a dependable Delivery Driver to join our team. You will safely operate a box truck; deliver orders on time, load/unload and provide excellent customer service.

Starting at $20/hr+ for a full-time role, the position offers benefits and opportunities for growth. Applicants should have a valid license and be able to pass a DOT medical exam; high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving history.
• Must be able to obtain a DOT medical card.
• Ability to pass a state DOT medical exam.
• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Some distribution experience preferred.
• Some computer skills preferred; data entry skills a plus.
• Commitment to safety and customer service.
• Ability to read and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a box truck under 26,000 pounds (CDL not required).
• Pick up, drive, deliver and unload per daily routes.
• Provide customer service; accept payments and handle invoices.
• Perform pre/post trip inspections and monitor maintenance needs.
• Maintain safe, clean vehicle and follow policies.
• Coordinate with shipping/receiving for timely deliveries.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do as a Delivery Driver:

• Safely operate a box truck less than 26,000 pounds. (CDL not required)
• Picking up, driving, delivering and unloading per daily designated routes.
• Customer service – deliver product, unload product, accept payments, record check # or other payment method on invoice, take customer complaints.
• Monitor the need for maintenance or major repairs by completing the Pre & Post Trip Inspection checklist for each trip.
• Maintain safe operation and clean appearance by complying with company operational policies, procedures, and standards.
• Interface with shipping and receiving personnel to ensure timely deliveries, including pulling orders, receiving and putting away product.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Your Qualifications as a Delivery Driver:

• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving history.

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Some distribution supply experience preferred.
• Some computer skills preferred, data entry skills a plus.

• Must perform duties and responsibilities in a safe manner.
• Ability to consistently follow store policies and procedures.
• Ability to read and complete instructions.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced customer service-oriented environment
• Lifting: Frequent lifting over 50 pounds from ground to chest high.
