Job summary

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is seeking a Propane Delivery Driver in Lantana, FL. You will operate a delivery truck to safely deliver propane, perform safety inspections, and maintain DOT documentation while providing excellent customer service.

Ideal candidates hold a CDL B with Hazmat endorsement, be comfortable with field conditions and weather, and enjoy interacting with customers. A competitive benefits package accompanies this role.

Qualifications

• Active CDL class B required.
• Hazmat endorsement required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain a safe, clean vehicle and work environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate delivery vehicle safely to deliver propane gas.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Document inspections and actions taken for exceptions.
• Prepare and maintain DOT-required documentation.
• Record deliveries, meter readings and tank percentages accurately.
• Check customer credit status before deliveries when on call.
• Collect payments and disconnect gas service as directed.
• Provide helpful assistance to resolve customer issues.
• Follow company, industry and regulatory guidelines for safe operations.
• Carry out other related duties as assigned.

What You’ll Be Working On…

• You will be operating truck and delivery equipment safely to deliver propane gas.
• You will perform pre trip and post trip safety inspections of vehicle and equipment.
• You will document findings of inspections and ensure appropriate action is taken in regards to any exceptions.
• You will prepare and maintain all appropriate documentation required of drivers by the Department of Transportation.
• You will observe all traffic rules and practice defensive driving techniques.
• You will observe all company, industry, and regulatory guidelines regarding the safe operation of equipment and the delivery of propane gas.
• You will record deliveries, meter readings and tank percentages accurately.
• You will check credit status of customers prior to making deliveries when on call
• You will collect payments from customers and disconnect gas service as directed.
• You will be sensitive to customers' situations and provide helpful assistance to resolve problems.
• You will perform other related duties as assigned.

Who You Are...

• You possess an active CDL class B.
• You possess a Hazmat endorsement.
• You have a keen sense of smell.
• You love working with customers and have great communication skills.
• You are able to maintain truck in a safe and clean manner
• You are comfortable with the below hazards and working conditions:
  • HAZARDS: Exposure to various substances which could be hazardous if handled improperly.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS: Assigned tasks are normally performed in field surroundings with exposure to all types of weather conditions.
