Qualifications

  • Strong Customer Service skills to interact respectfully and professionally with partner agencies, clients, and team members.
  • Background in Food & Beverage or food handling environments, with knowledge of basic food safety practices.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including Forklift Operation or similar material handling tools, following safety protocols.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to operate box trucks or similar delivery vehicles.
  • Reliable time management, attention to detail, and capability to follow delivery routes and documentation procedures.

The Chester County Food Bank mobilizes the community to ensure access to real, healthy food for residents across Chester County. Through local farming programs, a strong distribution network, and innovative food security initiatives, the organization works to provide consistent access to nutritious food. Volunteers play a vital role in operations on the farm, in the warehouse, at partner hunger relief agencies, and in the commercial kitchen. The Food Bank relies on contributions from individuals, organizations, and corporations to support programs that address the root causes of hunger through advocacy and education. Community members are encouraged to get involved as volunteers, donors, or ongoing supporters through monthly giving.

Role Description

The Delivery Driver is a full-time, on-site position based in Exton, PA, responsible for transporting food and supplies between the Food Bank, partner agencies, and other designated locations. Day-to-day responsibilities include safely operating delivery vehicles, loading and unloading pallets and food items, and ensuring accurate, timely deliveries according to established schedules. The role involves maintaining delivery logs, following food safety and handling procedures, and communicating professionally with staff, partner organizations, and clients. The Delivery Driver may assist in the warehouse with organizing inventory, operating equipment, and supporting team members as needed. This position contributes directly to the Food Bank’s mission by ensuring that nutritious food reaches communities reliably and efficiently.

Qualifications
  • Strong Customer Service skills to interact respectfully and professionally with partner agencies, clients, and team members.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including Forklift Operation or similar material handling tools, following safety protocols.
  • Experience in Training or mentoring team members on delivery, safety, or warehouse procedures is beneficial.
  • Background in Food & Beverage or food handling environments, with knowledge of basic food safety practices.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to operate box trucks or similar delivery vehicles.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items, stand for extended periods, and work in warehouse and outdoor environments.
  • Reliable time management, attention to detail, and capability to follow delivery routes and documentation procedures.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or delivery driving is preferred.
