Sidney Lee Welding Supply Inc. is seeking a dependable CDL truck driver for local route deliveries in the Georgia area, including North Florida. The role requires a Class B CDL, a clean driving record, and the ability to lift up to 60 lbs. You will manage routes, deliver compressed gas cylinders, and maintain accurate delivery logs.

Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with overtime and a driver bonus. Benefits include 401(k), health insurance, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 2+ years of proven experience in commercial truck driving preferred.
• Clean driving record with no moving violations.
• Must pass a background check and drug test.
• Proficient with GPS and routing systems; strong map reading and route planning skills.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. and operate basic lifting devices.

Responsibilities

• Operate and safely drive assigned vehicles.
• Drive GVW over 26,000 lbs.
• Pickup and transport goods to destinations; ensure contents are secure.
• Obtain signatures to confirm deliveries and maintain logs.
• Map routes and communicate with dispatch; adhere to schedules.
• Follow all traffic laws and DOT/ICC regulations.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections; keep vehicle clean and maintained.

This job would be delivering in the North Florida and surrounding areas. Products delivered would be compressed gas cylinders of oxygen, CO2, nitrogen, etc.

CDL Truck Driver Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and efficient CDL truck driver who possesses a great deal of physical and mental stamina able to withstand long hours on the road. Must be organized, detailed oriented, and comfortable working independently. A clean driving record and commercial driving experience is a must.

CDL Truck Driver Duties And Responsibilities

• Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicle
• Drive vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.
• Pick-up and safely transport goods, etc. to the intended destination
• Ensure contents are properly secured in a truck, to prevent damage/injury
• Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries
• Assist in mapping driving routes
• Stay on a predetermined route and ensure timely transport and delivery
• Communicate with dispatch as needed
• Confirm that the contents of each shipment load match the manifest document
• Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip
• Always ensure your vehicle is kept clean
• Maintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure, repairs, etc.)
• Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered
• Follow delivery schedule and rest at appropriate times
• Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs
• Adhere to company rules and regulations
• Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in accordance with the weather/road conditions
• Comply with ICC and DOT regulations
• Make safety a priority at all times

CDL Truck Driver Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) required
• 2+ years of proven experience in commercial truck driving preferred
• Clean driving record with no moving violations
• Must pass a background check and drug test
• Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles
• Alert, focused, and detail-oriented
• Physically and mentally fit
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. at a time
• Possess great physical stamina and focus during long driving shifts
• Able to operate an electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.
• Proficient using GPS and other routing systems
• Map reading and route planning experience
• An innate sense of direction
• Self-starter who works well independently
