Job summary

Airgas in Columbia, SC is seeking a CDL Route Driver to deliver compressed and liquid gas cylinders along designated routes. This role requires operating a Class B Hazmat vehicle, loading and unloading, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years old.
• Must hold a valid Class A or B CDL with Hazmat endorsement.
• At least 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience within the last 5 years.
• DOT Clearinghouse verification from previous employers is required.
• Must be able to routinely lift 25–75 lbs, and occasionally 76–100 lbs with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class B Hazmat vehicle to deliver compressed and liquid gas cylinders and hard goods along designated routes.
• Collect empty cylinders from customers and address inquiries to ensure satisfaction.
• Record all transactions accurately and obtain necessary customer signatures.
• Handle loading and unloading of all materials and maintain proper warehouse hygiene.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and adhere to all safety protocols.

This role is responsible for the safe transportation, loading, and unloading of compressed gas cylinders between locations while maintaining meticulous documentation and vehicle safety inspections. You will professionally manage associate and customer relations, operate warehouse equipment like forklifts, and strictly adhere to all hazardous material safety protocols.

• Vehicle Operation: Operate a Class B Hazmat vehicle to deliver compressed and liquid gas cylinders, as well as hard goods, along designated routes.

• Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and serve as a representative of the company during all deliveries.

Are you a MATCH?

• Required Qualifications
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a valid Class A or B CDL.
• Must have HAZMAT endorsement.
• Preferred Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Forklift Experience
• Touch freight delivery experience
• Successful completion of Airgas Background and Motor Vehicle Check.
• Must have at least 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience within the last 5 years.
• DOT Clearinghouse verification from previous employers is required.
• Ability to routinely lift 25 - 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 100 lbs w/ the use of equipment.
• Willingness to work outdoors in changing temperatures.
• Ability to maintain a drug-free workplace.
• Adherence to safety regulations and policies.
