Job summary

CORT Furniture Rental is hiring for a full-time Delivery Driver in Capital Heights, MD. You will load furniture, deliver to customers’ homes or offices, and assemble as needed, with a focus on a positive customer experience.

Pay is $22.50 per hour, with a standard schedule Monday–Friday 7am–5pm and some overtime possible. Benefits include health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 21 years of age or older.
• Valid driver’s license in state of residency.
• Minimum 3 months experience driving a 24-foot box truck or larger; 1 year preferred.
• Able to lift 100+ pounds with a partner.
• Must comply with FMCSA regulations and DOT medical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Start your day at the warehouse with the operations team to review route and safety topics.
• Drive a 26-foot box truck with lift gate to customers’ homes or offices.
• Unload, deliver and install furniture while interacting with customers.
• Assist in the warehouse as needed, including loading and unloading furniture.

Overview

CORT Furniture Rental is hiring immediately for full-time non-CDL drivers in Capital Heights, MD!

The Delivery Driver works collaboratively as part of the Operations team. You will be responsible for loading furniture and delivering safely to customers' homes or office spaces. You will also be assembling furniture for the customer and going above and beyond to ensure a positive customer experience.

Pay: $22.50 per hour

Schedule: Standard is Monday-Friday 7am-5pm; some flexibility or overtime may be required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent


• 21 years of age or older


• Valid and current driver's license in the state of residency


• A minimum of 3 months professional experience driving a 24-foot box truck or larger commercial vehicle; 1 year of experience preferred


• Physically able and willing to move furniture indoors, outdoors, up or down stairs and in all weather conditions; ability to lift 100+ pounds with a partner


• Ability to comply with Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration regulations
  
  
  
  • Per FMSCA Regulations: Drivers must read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.
  
  


• Ability to maintain a valid DOT Medical Evaluator Certificate, which includes passing a physical and drug screening


• Ability to successfully pass a road test based on FMCSA/CORT requirements


• Acceptable MVR per CORT's Safe Driving Standards
