Job summary

PepsiCo Deutschland GmbH in Hayward, CA is seeking a Delivery Driver Lead to manage frontline delivery drivers in a fast-paced direct store delivery environment. You will lead a group of 10–20 drivers, ensure on-time deliveries, and work with sales and warehouse teams to meet customer needs.

The role requires 2+ years of frontline management, a flexible schedule, and a valid driver's license with a strong safety record. CDL is preferred but not mandatory; lifting up to 40 lbs may be required.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years managing frontline employees preferred
• Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience preferred
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings (3am-10am start), evenings and/or weekends.
• Class A, CDL certified not mandatory but recommended
• Must be willing and able to lift up to 40 lbs. periodically
• This position is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Safe driving record strongly preferred

• Ensure daily on-time store delivery windows are met
• Collaborate with sales and warehouse operations to meet customer needs
• Coach and develop drivers to improve daily productivity and route efficiency
• Maintain safety and DOT compliance and lead safety trainings
• Demonstrate strong organizational and prioritizing skills and urgency
• Drive continual process improvements to enhance delivery productivity

Responsibilities

The DDL is responsible for leading a team of frontline employees to deliver orders to key customers in a fast-paced direct store delivery environment.

• Manage a group of 10-20 delivery drivers (CDL-Commercial Driver s License certified)
• Answer Field customer calls regarding deliveries and ensure 100% customer service
• Ensure store delivery time windows are met daily
• Work proactively with sales representatives and warehouse operations to understand the needs of the customers and sales force
• Coach, lead and develop drivers to support the sales organization and improve daily productivity via gate-to-gate route rides twice a week, minimum
• Maintain process improvement to further enhance productivity of deliveries
• Ensure compliance with the Department of Transportation and PBC safety standards
• Conduct team meetings and safety training to ensure that preventive measures are enforced
• Demonstrate strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills
• Possess strong organizational and prioritizing skills
• Have a highly developed sense of urgency
• Demonstrated results in improving business performance through leadership.

Compensation and Benefits:

• The expected compensation range for this position is between $73,600 - $123,150.
• Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
• Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 10% of annual salary paid out quarterly.
• Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.
