Job summary

Farmers Home Furniture in Madison, GA is hiring for a warehouse/delivery associate. You will help load and unload merchandise, assist with deliveries, and support store operations to meet delivery standards.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks and place stock on shelves or displays.
• Assist delivery drivers and customers with unloading and setup at delivery sites.
• Record deliveries and submit to management; obtain customer signatures when required.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in store/warehouse; operate equipment as trained.
• Assist with repossessions and general maintenance duties as needed.

Description

The purpose of this classification is to assist with delivery and warehouse activities. The person in this classification will load/unload trucks and assist with the delivery of merchandise to customers’ home or business.

Essential Functions

• Places stock on shelves or racks and sets up merchandise and sales promotion displays.
• Performs general maintenance and grounds keeping duties for warehouse and/or store.
• Unloads merchandise from warehouse and freight trucks.
• Ensures safe operations of vehicles by assisting delivery truck drivers with directing trucks into unloading areas.
• Records deliveries on delivery record and submits to appropriate management.
• Loads truck in preparation for daily deliveries; assists with delivery, unloading and set-up.
• Obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery.
• Assists with repossessions of goods.
• Assembles merchandise as required.
• Performs customer service inspections and repairs as needed.
• Maintains cleanliness of store/warehouse interior and grounds and upholds the company’s Delivery Standards.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: Jr. High School Diploma; six months experience in distribution or warehouse environment, shipping/receiving or delivering merchandise; or any combination of training, experience and education which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
