Job summary

Middlebury Natural Foods Co-op is expanding our deli team as we launch a new rotisserie chicken program. We offer a collaborative and supportive environment with a strong focus on nutritious, high-quality foods and teamwork in an organized kitchen.

This part-time role includes a set weekly schedule and a positive, customer-focused environment. Ideal candidates bring experience in fast-paced customer service, strong communication, and the ability to work well with a large team.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills for clear customer interactions.
• Ability to thrive in a large team with varied tasks.
• Experience preparing large volumes of food to high standards.
• Knowledge of ServSafe safety and sanitation guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service in the deli and maintain displays.
• Prepare and package quality food in an open kitchen.
• Maintain a clean, stocked deli and bakery area.
• Follow established procedures and work both independently and as a team to meet dept. goals.

Deli staff provide excellent customer service, maintain a clean and well-stocked department, and are positive contributors to the Deli Department team. They prepare and package quality food in an open, professional kitchen; maintain retail displays of deli and bakery items to keep shelves looking fresh and fully stocked. They follow all established procedures, working both independently and as a team to achieve department goals.

Our ideal candidate has experience:

• Providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrating strong communication skills
• Thriving while working with a large team completing varied tasks
• Preparing large volumes of food following high standards
• Maintaining ServSafe safety and sanitation guidelines
