Job summary

Penn State is seeking a full-time Deli Worker at University Park to join the dining services team. Duties include operating the cash register, stocking deli cases, preparing sandwiches, and assisting with catered events.

Schedule is 2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. with Fridays/Saturdays off; strong English and arithmetic skills are required. The position is part of the University’s Teamsters bargaining unit.

Qualifications

• 3 to 12 months of effective experience.
• Must be able to perform basic arithmetic with decimals.
• Ability to follow prescribed recipes and standard procedures.

Responsibilities

• Set up cash register and balance at day’s end.
• Stock deli cases and rotate supplies; order as needed.
• Prepare items for sale and serve customers per recipes.
• Assist in food preparation and set up for catered events.
• Maintain sanitation of condiment station and prep areas.
• Train part-time employees as needed.
