Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or GED. No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Keeps deli service areas stocked and appealing, smiles and greets customers, answers questions courteously.
• Ensures freshness and proper signage, rotates products, and handles spoiled items per procedures.
• Operates slicing equipment to prepare meats and cheeses as requested, and packages items with price/weight/date labels.
• Prepares ready-to-eat foods and platters; follows safety policies when handling hot or cold items.
• May operate cash register and follow money-handling procedures; complies with tobacco/alcohol laws.
• Maintains general sanitation, follows cleaning schedules, and adheres to OSHA health standards.
• Assists with inventory control and log-keeping; helps with receiving and stocking deliveries as trained.
• Cooperates with coworkers to ensure smooth department function; uses required PPE.
• May assist in other departments as needed.
