Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking a Deli Manager to lead the deli team, oversee inventory and pricing integrity, and ensure high standards of service. This fast-paced role requires attention to detail, effectiveness, and a passion for excellence to drive results in a retail environment.

You will direct meat, cheese, and CMS preparation, train staff, and maintain rotation standards while delivering exceptional guest experiences. Weekend and holiday availability is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 3 years of management in retail, restaurant, or hospitality; or 5 years in related management.
• Ability to read, understand and follow planograms, layouts, and schematics for merchandising.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Greeting guests and proactively assisting them with accurate and timely information.
• Making recommendations and accommodating requests.
• Managing order guides/ordering deadlines/reducing shrink/damage.
• Properly receiving/stocking of goods that follow rotation standards when replenishing product levels.
• Direct teams to handle, slice and prepare a variety of the department’s meat, cheeses, and CMS throughout the day.
• Engage, motivate, coach, and train team members on-the-job as well as through internal training.

About The Position

As the Deli Manager, you are taking the lead in directing team members, managing department inventory, pricing integrity, training, and other operational processes that require significant attention to detail. This is a fast-paced position that requires efficiency, effectiveness, and a passion for excellence to drive results.

What You'll Do

• Greeting guests and proactively assisting them in a friendly manner with accurate and timely information
• Making recommendations and accommodating requests
• Managing order guides/ordering deadlines/reducing shrink/damage
• Properly receiving/stocking of goods that follow rotation standards when replenishing product levels
• Direct teams to handle, slice and prepare a variety of the department’s meat, cheeses, and Convenient Meal Solutions (CMS) throughout the day
• Engage, motivate, coach, and train team members “on-the-job” as well as through The Fresh Market’s internal training platform to provide excellent guest service in a safe and secure manner

Availability:

This position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.

Qualifications

At a minimum, what you’ll need:

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of management experience in retail, restaurant, or hospitality field or 5 years of related management experience
• Ability to read, understand and follow planograms, layouts, and schematics of the department for merchandising
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Must be at least 18 years old
