Job summary

Meijer is seeking a Food Clerk to deliver friendly customer service, provide product knowledge, and keep displays fresh and organized. You’ll engage with customers, assist in locating items, and ensure store standards across fresh departments.

You’ll be part of a fast-paced team, using technology to complete tasks and following food safety guidelines. Prior retail experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• No degree required; customer service ability essential.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to operate cash registers and POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Build positive connections with customers and teammates.
• Share product knowledge and help customers find what they need.
• Maintain full, fresh, visually appealing product displays.
• Stock, rotate, and merchandise product according to standards.
• Use technology to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures.
• Work across departments including Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Produce and Grocery.
• Support other tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
