Job description

Primary leadership responsibility is to create an uplifting and friendly customer experience through exceptional service by highly satisfying each customer's needs and exceeding their expectations. Responsibilities will also include interviewing, training, evaluating performance, rewarding, and coaching associates. Responsibilities
  • Establish an uplifting work environment that allows associates to feel valued, appreciated, and engaged
  • Empower associates to create a simple, fresh, and inspired shopping experience for every customer
  • Prioritize and plan work activities efficiently
  • Identify and resolve problems promptly by gathering and analyzing information and developing solutions
  • Communicate company, department, and job-specific information to associates, including updates from meetings and huddles
  • Ensure new associates are properly oriented and understand the benefits of working here
  • Commit to the company's customer and associate promises
  • Support the Customer 1st team
  • Delegate work assignments appropriately, providing clear directions and monitoring progress
  • Maintain punctuality and ensure responsibilities are covered during absences
  • Execute action plans and daily priorities, including performance goals and best practices
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and promotional advertisements
  • Promote corporate brands and ensure associates are knowledgeable
  • Manage scheduling of Deli associates to meet customer demand
  • Provide actionable feedback to support team and individual growth
  • Help associates understand how their work aligns with store initiatives
  • Communicate priorities and goals clearly and recognize progress
  • Maintain and explain product knowledge to assist associates and customers
  • Create and execute sales promotions with store management
  • Monitor and control supply expenses to ensure resources are available
  • Assist in preparing budgets and conducting profit/loss reviews
  • Take appropriate actions based on financial reports
  • Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve targets
  • Supervise and coach Deli associates, conduct performance reviews, and provide rewards and feedback
  • Work effectively in high-paced and stressful environments
  • Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues
  • Support and assist with interactions involving minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • Perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
