Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking an Assistant Delicatessen Department Manager to support the Delicatessen team in delivering fresh, high-quality products and excellent customer service. You will assist with staffing, product placement, and daily operations in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; 6 months to 1 year in related retail/deli work preferred.
Ability to supervise staff and coordinate team tasks.
Strong customer service, communication and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of sanitation and food safety practices in a deli environment.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, friendly customer service and greet customers in the deli and store areas.
Assist Department Manager in preparing and presenting fresh, high-quality deli products.
Train and supervise deli department staff; assign duties and monitor performance.
Adjust pricing and promotions in the store computer system; support catering efforts.
Ensure sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards are followed consistently.
