• Establish department performance goals and empower associates to meet targets.
• Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume.
• Train and develop associates on performance and participate in appraisals.
• Answer customer questions and assist with product location and recommendations.
• Inform customers of specials and offer samples to discover new items.
• Review products for quality and freshness and take action as needed.
• Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve results.
• Create and execute sales promotions with store management.
• Educate associates about promotions affecting the department.
• Prepare seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor.
• Assist management in preparing the store/department budget and analyze financial reports.
• Schedule price changes and manage inventory processes.
