Job summary

Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking a Delicatessen Clerk in Minnesota. You will provide prompt, friendly service to customers, take orders at the deli counter, and run registers when needed.

Maintain cleanliness, follow sanitation procedures, and assist teammates to ensure a positive shopping experience. The role requires basic education with experience in customer service and the ability to perform arithmetic for transactions.

Qualifications

• Less than high school or equivalent experience and six months or less of similar or related work experience.
• Must be able to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request supplies orally or in writing
• Must be able to solve arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals and percentages.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to customers who call including taking customer orders.
• Runs the department registers and receives payment, makes change, etc., where applicable.
• Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.
