Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Delicatessen Clerk to support the Delicatessen department. You will engage customers with a friendly, helpful attitude, take orders at the counter, and assist in stocking and preparing deli items in a fast-paced environment.

You will ensure proper hygiene, handle payments, and coordinate with team members to maintain fresh, appealing product displays while following store guidelines and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be able to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.
• Must be able to write identifying information.
• Must be able to request supplies orally or in writing.
• Must be able to solve arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals and percentages.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether in their department or elsewhere in the store.
• Learns customers' names and addresses them by name when possible.
• Assists customers by guiding them to products, securing items, loading or unloading heavy items, and passing along their requests.
