Job summary

Festival Foods in Wisconsin is hiring a part-time Deli Clerk at Festival Express Market in Paddock Lake. You’ll assist guests with deli selections, prepare items for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and help maintain product quality and cleanliness in a retail grocery setting.

Qualifications

  • Customer-focused guest service and friendly interaction with guests.
  • Clear, effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to assess and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment while supporting the team.
  • Understanding of safety policies and proper training on slicers, lifting, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of the retail food business, perishable operations, and merchandising.

Responsibilities

  • Provide helpful guest service and address questions or concerns.
  • Assist guests in locating items and answer store telephone calls professionally.
  • Receive, prepare, and fulfill guest orders and special requests.
  • Address guest concerns promptly using constructive, team-focused approach.
  • Inspect and rotate deli products, maintain temperatures, and replenish displays.
  • Maintain inventory in the deli storage area and proper labeling.
  • Lead by example with food safety logs and safety standards.
  • Meet quality standards and productivity targets by set times.
  • Maintain regular, on-time attendance and proper coverage when absent.
  • Support the team with other duties as assigned

We are seeking a Deli Clerk to join our team in our retail grocery store environment, where you'll play a crucial role in food preparation and guest service.

Job Description

What You’ll Do:

As a Deli Clerk at Festival Foods, your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide Helpful Service: Providing excellent guest service is at the heart of what we do. Whether it’s a friendly greeting, answering questions or addressing guest concerns, you’ll handle each interaction with professionalism and care. Your willingness to help guests with what they need will make a positive impact every day.
  • Guest Assistance: Help guests locate items on or off the sales floor and professionally answer the Deli Department telephone.
  • Order Fulfillment: Receive, prepare, and fulfill guest orders and special requests with attention to detail and quality.
  • Customer Service: Address guest concerns and resolve issues promptly using the boomerang principle to ensure a positive experience.
  • Quality Control: Inspect, rotate, maintain proper temperatures, and replenish all deli products on display to ensure high standards.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain proper inventory levels in the deli storage, including containers, lids, spoons, tags, and more.
  • Food Safety: Lead by example in maintaining food safety logs and adhering to all safety standards.
  • Efficiency: Ensure all quality standards, including quantity expectations, are met by 10 am and 5 pm daily.
  • Honor Commitments: Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
  • Support the Team:Other duties as assigned

  • Food Knowledge: Knowledge of the retail food business, perishable department operations, and merchandising skills, with the ability to make timely and effective decisions.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Full range of upper body motion.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace.
  • May be exposed to extreme temperatures.

The Deli Clerk is a position with a flexible work schedule that includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
