Randalls is seeking a Deli Clerk to join our team in Illinois. You will prepare fresh deli items, assist customers, and help maintain a clean, inviting deli area with a focus on quality and speed.

You will slice meats, assemble grab‑and‑go options, stock displays, and ensure product freshness while adhering to food safety standards. Prior food service or customer service experience is a plus, with flexible scheduling and weekly pay support.

Qualifications

• Clear communication when taking orders in person or by phone.
• Experience preparing deli products (slicing, assembling, portioning).
• Understanding of deli meats, cheeses, prepared foods, and hot case items.
• Accuracy in portioning, labeling, pricing, and order completion.
• Managing multiple tasks while maintaining workflow and service speed.
• Keeping display cases stocked, clean, and visually consistent.
• Processing transactions and making accurate change using register systems (varies by location).
• Following food safety, sanitation, and company procedures.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with changing customer demand.
• Standing for extended periods, lifting product up to 35lbs, and varying temperatures.

A Day in the Life:

As a Deli Clerk, your day is centered around preparing fresh food and creating a welcoming experience for customers. You’re often the first stop for something ready to enjoy, helping customers choose from deli meats, cheeses, hot foods, and prepared items while keeping service friendly and efficient. From slicing meats to preparing grab‑and‑go options, your work helps keep customers coming back.

Another slice of the role is keeping the department stocked, clean, and ready throughout the day. You’ll prepare hot and cold items, maintain organized displays, and monitor product freshness and temperature. Between restocking, taking orders, and working with equipment, the day stays active, making it a strong fit for someone who enjoys staying busy in a fast‑paced environment.

What you bring to the table:

• Customer Interaction Skills: Clear communication when taking orders in person or by phone

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Ability to operate slicers and food preparation equipment following training and safety guidelines
• Basic math skills for weighing, portioning, and transactions
• Availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Prior food service or customer service experience preferred
