McKeever Price Chopper is hiring a Deli Clerk to help prepare, package, and serve high-quality deli items with a focus on fast, friendly service and food safety.

You will greet customers, slice and package foods, and maintain cold cases while ensuring cleanliness and proper labeling. This role offers benefits and training support to help you grow in a busy fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.

• Basic food handling and knife skills preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude.
• Willing to obtain a food handler permit (McKeever’s will assist).

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers at the deli counter with friendly, prompt service
• Slice, weigh, and package meats, cheeses, and prepared foods to order
• Stock and rotate deli cases and displays to ensure freshness and visual appeal
• Prepare fresh deli items such as sandwiches, salads, and sides
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations and equipment
• Follow all food safety procedures and store guidelines
• Answer customer questions about products, ingredients, and specials
• Assist with inventory, labeling, and merchandising

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for long periods (4–8 hour shifts)
• Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting (up to 40 lbs)
• Comfortable working in hot and cold environments
• Repetitive hand and arm motions (slicing, wrapping, etc.)
