Job summary

Albertsons Companies Inc. is seeking a Cheese Specialist to guide customers through cheese selections, share tasting notes, and keep the epicurean department appealing.

You will cut and prepare cheese, refresh displays, manage rotation, and assist with merchandising, sampling, and seasonal priorities while upholding food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and clear product communication.
• Deep knowledge of cheese varieties, pairings, and tasting notes.
• Experience cutting and preparing foods to standard specifications.
• Strong attention to detail for labeling, rotation, and presentation.
• Efficient organization and time management for daily tasks.

As a Cheese Specialist, your day is centered around product knowledge, customer interaction, and maintaining a well‑presented epicurean department. You’re the go‑to for great taste and even better pairings, helping customers explore cheeses while providing details that make selection easier. From answering questions to highlighting featured items, your role supports an engaging and informative shopping experience.

A gouda part of the role is keeping everything fresh, inviting, and ready for what customers are craving next. You’ll cut and prepare cheeses with consistency, refresh displays so they stay full and appealing, and keep an eye on product rotation and quality throughout the day. Between restocking, updating signage, and introducing new items, there’s always something happening, which makes it a great fit for someone who enjoys staying active and keeping things looking their best in a fast‑moving environment.

• Customer Interaction Skills: Clear communication when presenting product information and assisting with selection
• Product Knowledge: Familiarity with cheese varieties, characteristics, and pairings, with interest in expanding knowledge
• Food Preparation Skills: Experience handling, cutting, and preparing food products according to established standards
• Attention to Detail: Consistent execution of cutting, labeling, rotation, and presentation requirements
• Organization & Time Management: Effective handling of daily tasks, inventory tracking, and merchandising upkeep
• Merchandising Awareness: Maintaining displays that are clean, organized, and visually consistent
• Inventory & Ordering Practices: Monitoring product levels, managing dates, and placing accurate orders

• Physical Capability: Comfort with standing for extended periods, lifting and moving products up to 55lbs, and working in cooler environments
