Job summary

Houchens Food Group is seeking a Deli Clerk to handle merchandise stocking, pricing, packaging, and general deli/bakery duties. The role involves fast-paced work, safe operation of equipment, and occasional cake decorating. You will support truck unloading and maintain cleanliness and organization in the deli area.

The position requires adherence to dress code, instructions, safety policies, and teamwork. Applicants will work in a team environment and may face temperature extremes in cold

Responsibilities

• Rotates, stocks and straightens merchandise and supplies.
• Correctly prices all merchandise according to departmental guidelines.
• Wraps and packages using correct sizes and containers.
• Performs basic housekeeping with available equipment.
• Operates tools and equipment safely.
• Cleans deli-bakery tools and equipment.
• Produces bakery/deli products following procedures.
• Stand/walk at rapid pace to perform duties.
• Lifts/moves items up to 50 pounds.
• Maintains a neat and clean work area.
• Performs duties with limited supervision.
• May decorate cakes.
• Receives and unloads truck deliveries with equipment.
• Lifts/moves items over 50 pounds.
• Works in temperature extremes (frozen foods, storage cooler).
• Orders product per guidelines in absence of deli manager.
• Other duties as assigned.
