Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Ohio is seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead daily operations, drive sales, and motivate a diverse team. You’ll oversee staffing, customer service, merchandising, and P&L performance while upholding Meijer standards and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members with clear and precise direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to teach suggestive selling and mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning by providing career paths and development needs for team members; involved in promotion decisions.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and recommendations concerning discharge.
• P&L responsibility: achieve sales and maintain shrink for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Mentor and coach team members to exceed goals and uphold Meijer standards.
• Ensure teams are trained in all job aspects and required training is completed.
• Spend majority of time in-store communicating with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service.
• Promote a safe work environment and maintain reliable attendance.

What You’ll be Doing

• Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Responsible for staffing, selection and hiring to achieve staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning by providing career paths, identifying development needs for the team members, and being involved with and accountable for promotion decisions.
• Documents and applies disciplinary actions and makes recommendations concerning discharge.

• Ensures the team is thoroughly trained in all aspects of their jobs and have completed all required training.
• Spends majority of time within the store communicating with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service is being delivered.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications)
