Job summary

SpartanNash’s Family Fare location in Harrison, MI is seeking a part-time Deli/Bakery Associate to prepare, package, and display Bakery and Deli products, stock the backroom, and support store teams in delivering great guest experiences.

You will follow safety, food safety, and PPE guidelines; assist with rotation and dating; and communicate recipes, weights, and tasks to team members. HS diploma preferred; 1 year retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and produce Bakery/Deli products.
• Package and label Bakery/Deli products as per plan.
• Merchandise Bakery/Deli items per flight plan and merchandising expectations.
• Stock backroom with Bakery/Deli products and rotate dating.
• Collaborate with other departments and stores to drive growth.
• Notify Bakery/Deli Manager when supplies need ordering.
• Follow PPE, safety and food safety guidelines.
• Communicate tasks and weights to associates.
• Follow guest experience guidelines.
• Perform other tasks as needed.

Position Summary:

This role is responsible to work independently to prepare food, fry, package, display, and stock deli and or bakery products; to ensure that you contribute to the financial best interest of the store. Additionally, this role is responsible for meeting company guidelines for guest experience, as well as complying with company guidelines for safety and food safety.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

• Prepare and Produce Bakery/Deli Products to Production Planner

• Package and Label Bakery/Deli Products per program plan

• Merchandise Bakery/Deli Products per Flight plan/Merchandising Expectations

• Stock Backroom with Bakery/Deli Products – Rotating and Dating Cases/Buckets

• Work as a team with other departments and Stores to achieve growth in our SpartanNash Retail stores

• Notify the Bakery/ Deli Manager if products and supplies need to be ordered.

• Understand basic functions of adding, subtracting, multiplying and division

• Communicate tasks, recipes, weights and measures, and cleaning steps completed to other associates

• Follow all PPE and Safety Guidelines

• Follow all Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations

• Follow Guest Experience Guidelines

• May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience need

• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed

Here’s What You’ll Need:

• High School Diploma (GED) preferred

• One year of retail or related experience preferred.

• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents

• Basic mathematical skills
