Job summary

Military Deli & Bakery Services is hiring a part-time Deli Bakery Associate to serve military personnel and families at one of our 103 US Military Commissary locations. Shifts run 11 am–7 pm, with up to 29 hours weekly, in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities include slicing meats, preparing party trays and sandwiches, stocking displays, and maintaining sanitation. Cross-training in bakery tasks is encouraged with potential for growth within the organization.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Willing to cross-train in bakery and deli tasks.
• Effective and friendly communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math and the ability to follow written guidelines.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
• Ability to stand and walk short distances for an entire shift.
• Team player.
• Grocery, food service or retail experience a plus!

Responsibilities

• Slices deli meats and cheeses to customer’s request.
• Prepares custom party trays and makes sandwiches accordingly.
• Stock and organize displays, to include helping with shipments as needed.
• Ensure proper sanitation of the department, equipment, and proper food handling/preparation.
• Demonstrates the ability to work in fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.
• Other duties may include cake decorating, baking, rotisserie chicken preparation, or other deli/bakery tasks as needed.
