Job summary

Meijer is seeking a Food Clerk to join our team and provide a welcoming, efficient shopping experience in our Fresh departments. You will build positive connections with customers, share product knowledge, and help maintain clean, appealing displays.

You will stock, rotate, and merchandise products, use store technology for tasks, and follow food safety standards. Prior retail or food service experience is helpful but not required; willingness to be active and customer-focused is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering friendly, helpful service in a retail or food environment preferred but not required.
• Ability to learn and use store technology and point-of-sale tools.
• Strong listening and communication skills; customer-first mindset.

What You’ll Do

As a Food Clerk, you play a key role in creating a fresh, welcoming, and well‑run store experience within our Fresh departments.

You’ll:

• Build positive connections with customers and teammates

• Share product knowledge and help customers find what they need

• Maintain full, fresh, and visually appealing product displays

• Stock, rotate, and merchandise product according to standards

• Use technology to complete tasks efficiently and accurately

• Follow food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures

• Work across departments including Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Produce and Grocery

• Support other tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly
