Job summary

SRS Distribution Inc. is seeking a delivery driver in Troy, VA to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle and deliver building materials to customer sites with a focus on safety and world-class service.

The role requires a valid CDL (Class B minimum; Class A preferred), a clean MVR, and knowledge of DOT regulations. You will load/unload materials, lift up to 100 lbs, and collaborate with team members to meet delivery timelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid CDL required; Class B minimum; Class A preferred.
• Clean three-year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
• Knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations.
• Strong professional communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate truck/trailer and deliver materials to sites.
• Inspect vehicle and equipment for defects daily.
• Load/unload materials, up to 100+ lbs, on flatbed or boom truck.
• Maintain compliance with DOT and state regulations; complete records.

Position Summary

The primary function of a delivery driver is to safely and efficiently operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with company policies along with Federal and State regulations and delivers all freight undamaged. Work as a team player to deliver, load/unload materials while providing a world class customer service experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Inspect truck/trailer for defects for safe operation. Safely load building materials onto flatbed or boom truck and unload products at commercial and residential job sites. Deliver materials to assigned area as directed by the customer while prioritizing personal safety and the safety of those around you.
• Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations.
• Must report all accidents involving driver or company equipment. Stamina to lift heavy building materials up to 100+ lbs. for load/unload. Excellent customer service skills and professional attitude.

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Must have a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).
• Minimum Class B License, Class A strongly preferred
• Must have a clear three (3) year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position while driving a commercial vehicle 40% of the time.
• Must be able to lift heavy building materials up to 80 lbs. for loading/unloading.
• Frequently moves materials weighing up to 80 lbs. while unloading flatbed. Will constantly move from unloading materials from commercial motor vehicle onto job site. Will constantly operate commercial motor vehicle and/or boom vehicle. Will constantly position self to unload materials from flatbed or boom.
• Must be able to judge distance while delivering materials and/or operating boom.
• Must be able to communicate with management and coworkers and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
• Constantly working in outside environment while making deliveries.

The base salary for this position typically falls within the range of $23.51 to $29.90 per hour. Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. SRS Distribution offers additional competitive and non-financial benefits. Hourly associates may be eligible for overtime based on business needs. Depending on the role, associates may also be eligible for performance-based bonus programs, commissions, car allowance or automobile and fuel program, and reimbursement for travel expenses in accordance with company travel policy.
