Job summary

Strongpoint Partners, through its operating partner Karel-Gordon & Associates in Deerfield, Illinois, seeks a seasoned Defined Contribution Reviewer to join the team. This role focuses on reviewing plan valuations, testing, and regulatory filings to ensure accuracy and compliance, with exposure to complex defined contribution and DB plans.

The ideal candidate will bring deep ERISA knowledge, 8+ years in retirement plans, and strong collaboration skills to mentor colleagues and support client

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in the retirement plan industry.
• Strong working knowledge of 401(k) and Profit Sharing Plans.
• Advanced understanding of ERISA regulations and IRS/DOL requirements.
• Experience reviewing retirement plan documents and suggesting design improvements.
• Proficiency with Datair retirement plan software (preferred).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to mentor colleagues and handle multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Review defined contribution plan valuations, administration projects, and calculations for accuracy and compliance.
• Review annual nondiscrimination and compliance testing (ADP/ACP, top-heavy, 402(g), 415, 410(b), 401(a)(4)).
• Review annual reports, Forms 5500, 8955-SSA, filings, and disclosures for completeness.
• Provide technical guidance on ERISA, IRS, and DOL matters to Plan Administrators and team members.
• Prepare and review retirement plan documents, amendments, and restatements.
• Manage a small portfolio of retirement plan clients and ensure timely service.
