Job summary

Infinity Systems Engineering in Colorado Springs seeks a Defensive Cyberspace Operations Subject Matter Expert to design, implement, and maintain security measures protecting IT infrastructure, networks, and data.

You will monitor threats, respond to incidents, ensure compliance, and work cross-functionally to strengthen the organization’s security posture. Requires 3+ years in cybersecurity, a security clearance, and experience with SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and GPS security tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, computer science, information technology or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or related fields.
  • Secret clearance with ability to attain Top Secret/SCI.
  • Experience with security tools: SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in GPS security tools, firewalls, and network security protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamworking skills.
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 crew environment with rotating shifts.
  • Preferred: GPS systems experience; DoDM 8140.03 certifications: Technical Support Specialist, Cyber Defense Analyst, Cyber Defense Incident Responder, Splunk Power User.

Responsibilities

  • Threat Monitoring & Incident Response: Monitor security events and respond to threats using SIEM tools.
  • Compliance & Policy Management: Ensure adherence to cybersecurity policies, frameworks, and industry regulations.
  • Security Awareness & Best Practices: Provide security training and awareness programs for employees.
  • Support development, modification, and sustainment of cybersecurity monitor capabilities.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide technical assistance during cyber incident handling until the event is mitigated, isolated, or risk removed.
  • Provide recommendations to improve cyber-attack mitigation and actions, updates, or changes to reduce cybersecurity false positives.
  • Assist audits and security assessments to maintain compliance.
  • Develop and maintain security documentation, including policies and procedures.
