Job summary

NAXCON GmbH, headquartered in Weil am Rhein with multiple offices, invites applications for a System Test Manager (m/f/d) in the defence domain. The role leads a project-based test team, defines a comprehensive test strategy, and plans both manual and automated testing across software products.

Ideal candidates hold a STEM degree or vocational IT training and bring expertise in verification/validation, ALM tools, ISO standards, and agile methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or a comparable STEM field, or technical vocational training (e.g., IT specialist).
• Knowledge of IP addressing, routing, switching, as well as wired (Ethernet) and wireless communication (VHF, UHF, LTE, SatCom).
• In-depth understanding of verification and validation processes, as well as experience with functional, acceptance, and performance testing.
• Proficiency with the V-Model XT and, ideally, ISO 29119 standards.
• Practical experience with ALM and test management tools (e.g., Jira X-Ray, IBM Doors) as well as version control systems (Git).
• Substantial experience with agile development methods such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Analytical mindset with strong customer focus and clear, solution-oriented communication.
• Very good written and spoken German and English

Responsibilities

• Leading a project-based test team in the defense sector and managing all relevant validation activities.
• Developing and implementing a comprehensive test strategy for software products, and planning and monitoring manual and automated test activities.
• Creating system and acceptance tests based on functional, technical, and operational requirements.
• Ensuring the highest quality standards throughout all phases of the product development process.
• Introducing and continuously optimizing modern testing methods, tools, and meaningful test metrics.
• Close collaboration with project participants, the product lines, and relevant development departments.
