Job summary

Pratt Miller Engineering, an Oshkosh company, seeks a Product Intern to collaborate with cross-functional teams on low-volume defense product programs. You will manage requirements, assist with prototype design, and drive manufacturability considerations from concept to production.

The role requires strong technical writing, ERP/MS Office proficiency, and the ability to work in fast-paced environments with travel up to 20%. U.S. citizenship/permanent residency is required.

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of automotive/military vehicle systems engineering.
• Experience with low-volume production programs is highly desired.
• Knowledge of Product Development Tools and Processes is essential.
• Strong technical writing, communication, organization and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with ERP tools and MS Office.
• Understanding of ITAR Licensing classifications.
• US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and track all program requirements.
• Participate in all prototype design, build, testing, and development activities.
• Influence product design with focus on manufacturability, quality and lessons learned.
• Create and maintain BOMs with critical component information.
• Work with purchasing on supplier selection and part procurement.
• Support production fabrication, manufacturing, and assembly processes.
• Own product cost targets and plan to meet/exceed them.
• Track quality metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure prototypes transfer to Low Rate Production.
• Lead core production team meetings and departmental coordination.
• Direct customer interface with in-person support in remote/international locations.
• Manage product warranty, scrap, obsolescence, and spares.
