Job summary

Center for a New American Security (CNAS) seeks a Research Assistant/Associate for the Defense Program in Washington, D.C. The role supports research on defense strategy, policy, and operations, and helps organize events with senior defense leaders.

Strong project and event management skills, self-motivation, and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment are essential. The RA will contribute to research projects, coordinate roundtables and wargames, and handle administrative tasks with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to perform administrative work and support research.
• Interest in national security and defense issues with ability to write clearly.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and manage meetings and events across time zones.
• Edit and manage publication schedules and materials.
• Plan and manage Defense Program events including wargames and roundtables.
• Develop proposals, grants, and budgets with CNAS staff.
• Conduct literature reviews and analysis on defense topics.
• Engage with donors and sponsors; participate in CNAS events.
