Applied Intuition, Inc. Defense seeks a hands-on Perception Engineer to advance high‑tempo perception models for maritime, land, and air‑to‑surface domains using vision transformers and diffusion methods.

You’ll deploy to edge devices, build labeling tools, and scale data generation with simulation and generative AI. You will collaborate with top AI talent and work on DoD‑related deployments, with a focus on achieving real‑time or better FPS on Jetson‑like hardware while maintaining rigorous

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Computer Engineering, Robotic Engineering, Computer Science, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in training ML models with PyTorch on multi-machine multi-GPU systems.
• Experience deploying ML models to edge devices.
• Strong coding skills in Python and/or C++ and familiarity with AI tooling.

Responsibilities

• Develop perception models for high-accuracy target classification with very low error rates.
• Deploy and optimize models on Jetson Orin+ style boards for near-realtime performance.
• Build tooling for perception stack, labeling, and simulation workflows.
• Collaborate across hardware, sensor, autonomy, and testing teams for DoD deployments.
