Job summary

The Recruiting Hive is seeking an experienced Defense Litigation Attorney to join a premier New York City law firm. The role emphasizes handling complex civil matters from inception through resolution, with significant client interaction and courtroom exposure.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in defense litigation, strong writing and research skills, and NY Bar admission, and will guide junior staff while developing strategic plans for high-stakes cases in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active NY State Bar member.
• 3+ years defense litigation experience.
• Strong writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
• Experience taking and defending depositions.
• Courtroom and motion practice experience.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage defense litigation caseload from initial assignment through trial and appeal.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related documents.
• Handle discovery, including drafting responses and e-discovery.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and trials.
• Develop litigation strategy and provide analysis to clients and firm leadership.
• Collaborate with partners and staff to ensure efficient case management.
• Maintain client relationships through regular communication.
• Prepare cases for trial and participate in trial proceedings.
