Silverthorne Advisory Group is seeking a candidate to join a growing opportunity within the Defense sector at Scott AFB (Illinois). The role emphasizes foundational knowledge in federal financial management, working with a broad team to enhance a client’s financial practices through current accounting and reporting trends.

The ideal candidate will support audit readiness initiatives, implement best practices in federal finance, and liaise with key stakeholders including IPA and government

Qualifications

• 2–10+ years of federal experience.
• Interim Secret clearance or higher (sponsorable).
• Familiarity with audit protocol and audit readiness efforts.
• Experience with guidance from Treasury, GAO, OMB, etc.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate financial risk, processes, and reporting to integrate internal controls in large-scale acquisitions.
• Participate in system evaluation and design, contributing financial and audit experience.
• Develop/update Process Control Narratives for key client processes.
• Incorporate NIST 800-53 and FISCAM guidance to enhance auditability.
• Support Business Process Reviews and documentation.
• Manage CAPs and closure of NFRs.
