Ideal candidates will have 1–5 years of workers compensation defense experience, JD from an accredited school, and active state bar status.

Qualifications

JD from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar.
1–5 years of workers compensation defense experience, including Defense Base Act/Longshore & Harbor.
Strong legal research, writing, negotiation and advocacy skills.
Ability to manage high-volume caseload and work independently.

Responsibilities

Provide legal advice and representation in workers compensation defense, focusing on Defense Base Act/Longshore & Harbor Workers Compensation.
Develop litigation strategies and manage all stages from investigation to appeal.
Draft and negotiate pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts and agreements.
Represent clients in depositions, mediations, hearings and trials.
Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals and staff for efficient case handling.
Stay updated on relevant laws and industry trends to advise clients.
Build relationships with clients and contribute to business development.
