Job summary

BCG Attorney Search is seeking an associate attorney with 1-3 years of experience to join a New York defense practice in Downstate New York. This junior role offers a dynamic opportunity to sharpen litigation skills within a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities include handling discovery, motions, trial prep, drafting pleadings and memoranda, and conducting research. NY State Bar admission is required; additional bar admissions are a plus, with a focus on strong writing and communication

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of litigation experience in a law firm setting.
• Admission to practice in New York; additional bar admissions in NJ, CT, or PA are a plus.
• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills, professionalism, and a demonstrated work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all phases of New York defense litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
• Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal memoranda.
• Conduct legal research and prepare comprehensive reports and legal analysis.
• Participate in court conferences, depositions, and hearings as appropriate.
• Manage deadlines and ensure compliance with client guidelines.
• Maintain accurate time records and billing entries.
