Job summary

GLP Transit in Columbus, OH seeks a CDL driver responsible for the safe operation of DEF trucks, loading/unloading, and daily vehicle maintenance. Qualifications

  • Valid Class A or B CDL with an acceptable driving record.

  • Ability to work weekends and extended hours as needed.
  • Prior fuel, petroleum, or hazardous material transport experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Loads and unloads DEF trucks following Company and Government regulations.
  • Operates trucks safely according to policies and laws.
  • Maintains vehicle cleanliness and replaces gaskets, nozzles, and related parts.
  • Performs safety inspections on trucks and equipment.
  • Checks oil, water, fuel, tires, and tank-related items daily.
  • Reports equipment malfunctions to Fleet Manager.
  • Completes and transmits paperwork per established procedures.
  • Uses loading arms, card readers, spill kits, and fire extinguishers.

Job description

Description

This position is responsible for the proper and efficient completion of assigned duties and operation of their vehicle.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Loads and unloads DEF trucks adhering to all Company and Governmental regulations.
  • Safely operates trucks according to Company policies and state/federal laws.
  • Maintains vehicle cleanliness and replaces gaskets, nozzles, and other related articles as necessary.
  • Performs safety inspections on trucks, equipment, and/or facilities as required by Company policy.
  • Maintains miscellaneous service duties such as checking oil, water, fuel, tires, and tank-related items daily.
  • Reports any equipment malfunctions and/or concerns to Fleet Manager.
  • Completes and transmits all paperwork in compliance with established Company procedures.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to use loading arms and card readers at rack facilities, use auxiliary pumps for loading and unloading vehicles, and use spill kits and fire extinguishers.

Compensation:

  • Pay range: $22 to $27 per hour (based on experience, qualifications, and geographic location).
  • Overtime opportunities available in accordance with applicable laws.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and an acceptable driving record that meets company and DOT/FMCSA requirements.
  • Hazmat and Tanker endorsements REQUIRED.
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) REQUIRED or ability to obtain one within 30 days after hire.
  • Prior fuel, petroleum, or hazardous material transportation experience preferred.
  • Ability to successfully complete DOT required pre-employment drug testing.
  • Subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with DOT/FMCSA regulations.
  • Must meet and maintain DOT and FMCSA qualification standards, including a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate.
  • Availability to work weekends and extended hours as business needs require.
