Job summary

Charles Brothers, Inc. seeks an experienced truck driver to safely transport poultry from farms to plants and distribution centers. You will inspect vehicles, plan routes, log hours and miles, and ensure loads are secure and compliant with regulations.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, tarping, and maintaining delivery schedules while adapting to traffic and weather. A strong safety record and long-haul capability are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Must have proven work experience as a truck driver.
• Experience with GPS/AVL systems and CB radio for routing and safety.
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
• Strong knowledge of truck driving rules and regulations.
• No recent moving or driving violations.
• Demonstrated adaptability to traffic and weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Transport poultry over land from farms to plants and distribution centers.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
• Document and log work/rest periods and miles; retain fuel/toll receipts.
• Comply with truck driving rules and company policies and procedures.
• Secure loads for transport.
• Pull tarps as needed for transport and ensure tarps are positioned correctly.
• Maneuver trucks into loading/unloading positions.
• Collect and verify loading and delivery instructions.
• Monitor poultry health during catching, transportation and delivery.
• Perform duties as assigned by management.

We are looking for an experienced truck driver to serve our customers in the Poultry Industry in a safe and timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Transport poultry over land from farms to manufacturing plants and distribution centers
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
• Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Secure loads for transport
• Pull tarps as needed for transport. Note that his may require climbing up or onto the top of the trailer to ensure tarps are positioned appropriately
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Collect and verify loading and delivery instructions
• Monitor poultry health during catching, transportation and delivery
• Duties as assigned by management

Skills
