Zusammenfassung

Hadrian is seeking an Additive Manufacturing Engineer - Applications focused on Directed Energy Deposition (DED) to bridge customers and production-ready DED solutions for aerospace and defense programs. You will evaluate part feasibility, guide DfAM, support process development, and help scale DED programs from early engagement through qualification and production.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing engineering role working with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years in additive manufacturing or manufacturing/ applications engineering.
• Hands-on knowledge of metal DED processes and production workflow.
• DfAM principles for DED and interaction with deposition strategy and downstream manufacturing.
• Welding metallurgy, heat input control, residual stress, and mechanical performance in deposited alloys.
• Experience with engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerance interpretation, and inspection planning.
• Experience supporting part development from prototype through qualification or early production.
• Willingness to travel up to 15-20% within the U.S.

Aufgaben

• Support technical engagement with customers by gathering requirements and translating them into feasible DED manufacturing plans.
• Evaluate part and program fit for DED and support new application development and manufacturing planning.
• Provide DfAM guidance and design reviews specific to DED.
• Define and optimize manufacturing workflows across design, deposition, post-processing, and inspection.
• Develop, mature, and industrialize DED capabilities including equipment readiness and process windows.
• Identify improvements to make DED platforms more robust and repeatable.
• Coordinate with materials, quality, and supply chain teams and with OEMs and suppliers.
• Present technical recommendations and participate in technical reviews and supplier visits.
