Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. is seeking a Sourcing Manager for Decorative Textiles to lead sourcing and product development across the lifecycle from concept to delivery. You will align with the Merchant team to meet brand aesthetics, quality, and value while educating merchants and training Associate Sourcing Managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or commensurate required.
• 5+ years sourcing experience in Product Development/Merchandising within a large retail chain.
• Knowledge of product development and production processes; understanding materials and machinery.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent negotiating and influencing skills.
• Proficiency in retail math.
• Critical thinking with a solution-focused approach.
• Comfort with change and shifting priorities in multitask environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; experience with international partners; Bengali, Hindi, or Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
• Strong PC skills, especially Excel and other spreadsheet tools.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Manages Sourcing and Product Development operational functions for designated product categories from design to production to shipment.
• Anticipates problems and proposes solutions to Director/VP.
• Evaluates samples for aesthetic quality and material integrity.
• Owns product costing and cost engineering using HTS knowledge.
• Monitors milestone calendars and flags issues with timely updates.
• Facilitates communication with vendors and agents to ensure on-time deliveries and resolve issues.
• Keeps product knowledge current by evaluating competitors and Ross stores; makes assortment recommendations.
• Researches and develops new sourcing resources and methods to impact the assortment.
• Partner with Director/VP on onboarding of new suppliers/countries/factories.
• Provides data to merchants for PO issuance and ensures accuracy before sending PO to vendor.
• Develops and refines workflow, processes, and tools in partnership with leadership.
• Establishes strong relationships with internal and external partners.
