Job summary

Omni Tax Solutions is seeking Deckhands (Levels I & II) to support NOAA Fisheries’ research operations aboard various vessels. The role requires a hands-on approach to scientific gear deployment and vessel maintenance.

Candidates must be able to work at sea for extended periods and are required to possess CPR/First Aid certification. Experience with trawling and oceanographic gear is preferred, especially for Level II positions, which require a minimum of 3 years in the field.

Qualifications

• Entry-level trawling or oceanographic gear-handling experience is desired.
• Ability to lift and carry 55 lbs and work on rolling decks.
• Must be CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Safely deploy and retrieve scientific sampling gear.
• Assist with cruise staging, loading, unloading, and maintenance.
• Support deck operations during research missions.
